WHAT
THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESS BELIEVE:
The Jehovah's Witness
movement was started by Charles Tazze Russell. He formed a
class for Bible study, which continued from 1870 until
1875. This Bible class of six members, which included his
father, became the first nucleus group of Jehovah's
Witness, and after a while it became one of the largest
cults in the world.
Jehovah's Witnesses are
one of the most aggressive and fastest growing of all
anti-Christian cults today. Much of the success of
Jehovah's Witnesses is a result of their program of
visiting homes and distributing literature. Their standard
publications are the THE WATCHTOWER and AWAKE.
It is important that we
understand that the Jehovah's Witness organization is not
another Christian denomination. It is an anti-Christian
cult. This study is entitled TEN FALSE TEACHINGS OF
JEHOVAH'S WITNESS. Let us consider each of these false
teachings.
I. THEIR FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING JESUS.
In all the history of
Christianity the most dangerous heresies have been those
which have advocated a view of the person of Christ other
than that which taught in the World Of God. Jehovah's
Witnesses have a false and tragic view of Jesus Christ.
1. Jehovah's Witness give
Christ a lower place than the Bible gives Him.
They teach that Christ
was NOT God in the flesh. They Teach that Christ is a
created being. They say He was created by God the Father.
To support this they misinterpret Revelation 3:14
..."the beginning of the creation of God." They
also misinterpret Colossians 1:15, "Who is the image
of the invisible God, the firstborn of every
creature."
The "firstborn"
here does not mean that He was created, for the Greek word
has a higher meaning than that, and the rest of the
passage does not imply that it has this meaning. It refers
to His uniqueness as the Son Of God. He was the Son Of God
as no other was or could ever be. William John Lenski
explains it this way, "There, with the Father in
Heaven was His Son the Only-begotten' who was such from
all eternity, and as such God gave Him to the world"
(The Interpretation of St. John's Gospel, by William John
Lenski, page 263)
They say that throughout
His earthly life He ( Jesus ) was a moral man and no more.
They say that at Jesus'
baptism, God begot Him by His Spirit, giving Him the right
to live in a heavenly spirit realm. (Christian answers to
Jehovah's Witness," by William Harding Kneedler,
Moody Press, Chicago)
Jehovah's Witness believe
that Christ was given immortality at His resurrection, and
they teach that Christ was first to receive immortality as
a reward for His faithful course on earth. (Let God Be
True, page 74)
Jehovah's Witness claim
that at His ( Jesus ) baptism Jesus was "born
again" ( The Watchtower 75-681, 1954)
Jehovah's Witness,
teaching concerning Christ is in direct contradiction with
what the Bible teaches about Christ. The Bible teaches
that Christ has always existed and is equal with the
Father ( see John 2:1-2, John 17:5 Micah 5:2 Revelation
1:17 Revelation 22:13) They teach that Jesus is NOT equal
to God but was equal to man.
2. JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
TEACH THAT Christ was once Michael the Archangel.
They say that before
being born a man, Christ was Michael the Archangel. They
say that upon becoming a man Jesus ceased to be an angel
and became JUST A MAN.
They say that throughout
His earthly life He was mortal man and NO MORE.
This is a blasphemous
distortion of the Bible teaching concerning the person and
deity of Jesus Christ. There is no verse of Scripture to
support this absurd teaching about Christ, (Doctrines of
Devils, by Salem Kirban, page 53)
3. Jehovah's Witness deny
the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave.
They teach that God
raised Christ from the dead, not as a human Son, but as a
mighty immortal spirit son (Let God Be True, page 40)
Charles Taze Russell, the
founder of Jehovah's Witness, taught that when Christ died
He cease being a man. His body either was dissolved into
gases, or probably was kept somewhere "as a
memorial" by God. Since Jehovah's Witnesses believe
that Christ's resurrection was a spiritual one and not an
actual bodily resurrection, they explain away Hid bodily
post-resurrection appearances.
By denying the bodily
resurrection of Christ from the grave, the Jehovah's
Witness have denied the very basis of our Christian faith.
The Bible says, (1 Corinthians 15:14-20) " And if
Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your
faith is also vain. (15) Yea, and we are found false
witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he
raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the
dead rise not. (16) For if the dead rise not, then is not
Christ raised: (17) And if Christ be not raised, your
faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (18) Then they
also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. (19)
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all
men most miserable. (20) But now is Christ risen from the
dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
II. THEIR FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING THE BIBLE
The Jehovah's Witness
leaders have violated almost every sound principle of
Bible interpretation and teaching. We will consider three
of these:
1. THEY HAVE REWRITTEN
THE SCRIPTURES:
The Jehovah's Witness
have rewritten the Scriptures to suit their purposes in
their books and magazines. In 1950 they put out their own
translation of the New Testament Bible, which they called
"The New World Translation". This contains
passages translated to suit their beliefs.
2. THEY HAVE TWISTED THE
SCRIPTURES"
The Jehovah's Witness put
into Scripture passages meaning which are not there in the
Christian Bible. They often take small passages in the
Bible and twist them out of context to prove what they
want to prove. The Bible warns against this,
(2 Pet 3:16 KJV) "
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these
things; in which are some things hard to be understood,
which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they
do also the other scriptures, unto their own
destruction."
(2 Pet 3:16 NIV) He
writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them
of these matters. His letters contain some things that are
hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people
distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own
destruction.
In other words, they
change the Scriptures to mean what they want them to say,
But God says in the end it will lead to their own
destruction.
(Christian Answers To
Jehovah's Witnesses, by William Harding Kneedler, Moody
Press, Chicago)
3. THEY HAVE ADDED TO THE
SCRIPTURES"
Jehovah's Witnesses
stress a progressive revelation, and through this
deception are able to repudiate many teachings and
interpretations of the Scripture, and any of the former
teachings that become embarrassing to them.
The Bible warns:
(Revelation 22:18 NIV) I
warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this
book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him
the plagues described in this book.(19) And if anyone
takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take
away from him his share in the tree of life and in the
holy city, which are described in this book. (20) He who
testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming
soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus."
(Rev 22:18 KJV) For I
testify unto every man that heareth the words of the
prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these
things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are
written in this book:(19) And if any man shall take away
from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall
take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the
holy city, and from the things which are written in this
book. (20) He which testifieth these things saith, Surely
I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
In Proverbs 30:6 the
Bible warns:
"Add thou NOT unto
His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a
liar."
III. THEIR FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING SALVATION
The Jehovah's Witnesses
teaching concerning salvation is different from the Bible
teachings about salvation:
1. THEY TEACH SALVATION
BY WORKS.
They lay much emphasis on
obtaining the right to live an eternal life on earth
through one's own efforts. They talk freely of God's
grace, but their idea for it is not the Bible teaching on
grace.
The Bible does NOT teach
salvation by works. The Bible teaches that we are saved by
Grace entirely apart from works, (Ephesians 2:8 KJV) For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(John 3:16 KJV) For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.
(John 5:24 KJV) Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death
unto life.
(Acts 16:30 KJV) And
brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be
saved?
(Acts 16:31 KJV) And they
said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved, and thy house.
2. THEY TEACH THAT THEY
DO NOT NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN.
According to Jehovah's
Witnesses doctrine, only the select 144,000 need to be
born again, since they and they only will go to heaven.
The other Jehovah's Witnesses do not need this new birth.
The great masses of Jehovah's Witnesses are not "BORN
AGAIN", nor need they be "BORN AGAIN",
because they gain everlasting life on earth. " This
teaching comes from the Jehovah's Witnesses "THE
WATCHTOWER, November 5, 1954)
3. THEY TEACH THAT THEY
WILL GAIN EVERLASTING LIFE ON EARTH.
Jehovah's Witnesses of
today do not hope nor do they expect to go to haven. They
believe they will have everlasting life here on earth.
Their eternal life on earth will be a life without old age
or sickness.
Jehovah's Witnesses
believe they must work to gain paradise and eternal life
on earth. Theirs is a salvation by works. They list FOUR
STEPS that are essential to gain paradise and eternal life
on earth:
Step 1:
You must study the Bible in the context of Jehovah's
Witnesses teachings.
Step 2:
You must associate with other Jehovah's Witnesses
Step 3:
You must change your life from the former way to their
way.
Step 4:
You must help spread the Jehovah's Witnesses teachings.
(You can find this in
"Paradise Lost To Paradise Regained" pages 242,
244, 246, 249)
IV. THEIR FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING THE HOLY SPIRIT:
The Jehovah's Witnesses
reject the idea of the Holy Spirit as a person, and as One
with God. They consider the Holy Spirit to be only the
power of God. They teach that the Holy Spirit is neither
God nor a person, He is merely an impersonal force.
The Bible presents the
Holy Spirit as a person, but they teach, "...the holy
spirit ( not they do NOT capitalize His name) has no
personal name. The reason for this is that the holy spirit
is NOT an intelligent person. It is the impersonal,
invisible active force that finds its source and reservoir
in Jehovah God and that he sues to accomplish his
will"
(LET YOUR NAME BE
SANCTIFIED, Page 269)
There are many Scriptures
setting forth the work and person of the Holy Spirit. Some
of these are:
(John 15:26 KJV) But when
the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the
Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from
the Father, he shall testify of me:
(John 16:8 KJV) And when
he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment:
(John 14:26 KJV) But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said
unto you.
(Rom 8:9 KJV) But ye are
not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the
Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(Rom 8:11 KJV) But if the
Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in
you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in
you.
(Ephesians 5:18 KJV) And
be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled
with the Spirit;
V. THEIR FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING THE TRINITY:
Jehovah's Witnesses deny
the reality of the TRINITY. In speaking of the Trinity,
they say, " The plain truth is that this is another
of Satan's attempts to keep God-fearing persons from
learning the truth of Jehovah and His Son, Christ Jesus.
No, there is no trinity" (LET GOD BE TRUE, 2nd
ed, Page 111)
They say, "The
doctrine of the trinity has its origin in the
demon-religions of ancient Babylon, India and Egypt. The
obvious conclusion is, therefore, that Satan is the
originator of the Trinity doctrine." They say,
"Sincere persons who want to know the true God and
serve Him find it a bit difficult to love and worship a
complicated ... freakish-looking, three-headed God."
( Let God Be True, Pages 101 & 102 )
The word
"Trinity" is a short form for Tri-unity. This is
the Biblically based doctrine that the true God is One
God.
(Deu 6:4 KJV) Hear, O
Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
A Unity, and yet at the
same time this One God is manifest in three, divine
persons:
1. God the Father
2. God the Son
3. God the Holy Spirit
Salem Kirban says,
"That this the teaching of the Bible has been
affirmed by the Church universally from the first
ecumenical councils onward ( The Council of Nicea, 325
A.D. ....The first Council of Constantinople, 381 A.D.)
The three persons of the
Trinity are set forth in the Bible. All three, the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit, were present in the creation
of our world.
(Gen 1:1 KJV) In the
beginning God created the heaven and the earth.(2) And the
earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon
the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters.
(John 1:1 KJV) In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God.
(3) All things were made by him; and without him was not
any thing made that was made.
(John 1:10 KJV) He was in
the world, and the world was made by him, and the world
knew him not.
The Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit were present at the baptism of Jesus.
(Luke 3:22 KJV) And the
Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon
him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my
beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
Baptism is done in the
name of the FATHER, the Son and the Holy Spirit
(Mat 28:19 KJV) Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost:(20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even
unto the end of the world. Amen.
There are many other
scriptures in the Holy Bible that refers to the Trinity.
VI. THERE FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING THE CHURCH:
Jehovah's Witnesses teach
that all Christian churches are false.
They look upon each
church as a center of false worship and false teachings.
They consider each
Christian pastor a false teacher.
They disapprove of church
buildings, saying that the early Jewish Christians did not
have them, and that they began to be built later as a
result of pagan influence. They meet in private homes or
in buildings called "Kingdom Hall"/
For larger meetings, they
rent buildings.
Jehovah's Witnesses have
a deep and abiding contempt for Christian churches and the
great doctrines and ministry of the churches. This
contradicts the Lord's attitude toward His church.
Consider four things
concerning Christ and the church;
1. Christ established the
local church.
(Mat 16:18 KJV) And I say
also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I
will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against it.
2. Christ is the head of
the Church
(Eph 5:23 KJV) For the
husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
3. Christ loved the
church
(Eph 5:25 KJV) Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and
gave himself for it;
4. Christ purchased the
church with His blood
(Acts 20:28 KJV) Take
heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over
the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed
the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own
blood.
VIII. THEIR FALSE
TEACHING CONCERNING THE SECOND COMING.
Space will not allow a
complete presentation of their doctrine of the Second
Coming of Christ and their teachings on the end of the
present age. We must briefly summarize. According to their
teachings, Jesus Christ returned to the temple of God in
1914 and by 1918 had cleaned it to prepare for judgment
upon Satan and his followers.
The Jehovah's Witnesses
have worked out a detailed system of "LAST
THINGS".
Time and space does not
allow us to provide a detailed outline on all of their
teachings on this subject.
Some of their doctrines
are borrowed from Seventh Day Adventist ( Mormons). Their
teachings on the Second Coming of Christ are a mixture of
truth and error.
Perhaps the most
important false teachings for us to consider is the
teaching that "Jesus Christ will NOT return again
physically because He is already here." (Armageddon's
Army" The Jehovah's Witness, by T.M. Thomas Starks,
published in the Southern Baptist Convention's Home
Magazine," March 1975)
The personal, eminent,
bodily and glorious return of Jesus Christ is the blessed
hope of the Christian.
(Titus 2:13 KJV) Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the
great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; so shall we ever
be with the Lord. (18) Wherefore comfort one another with
these words.
The Second Coming of
Christ is one of the great doctrines of the Christian
faith. It is an event that Christians look forward to with
great joy and anticipation. Some basic Scriptures on the
Second Coming of Christ are found in:
(Mat 26:64 KJV) Jesus
saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto
you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the
right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
(1 Th 4:13 KJV) But I
would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning
them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others
which have no hope.(14) For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus
will God bring with him.(15) For this we say unto you by
the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which
are asleep.(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the
Lord in the air: and
(Heb 9:28 KJV) So Christ
was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them
that look for him shall he appear the second time without
sin unto salvation.
(1 John 2:28 KJV) And
now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall
appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before
him at his coming.
VIII. THERE FALSE
TEACHING CONCERNING DEATH
Jehovah's Witness have a
false and weird view of death. Basically their view of
death can be summed up in three ways.
#1. DEATH BRINGS TOTAL
ANNIHILATION.
They teach that there is
NO soul which survives after death. When a man dies, he
totally ceases to exist! ( Paradise Lost, Pages 293-294)
#2. JEHOVAH'S WITNESS WHO
HAVE DIED WILL BE RE-CREATED.
At a certain point in the
future the Jehovah's Witness believe that those their
number who have died will be re-created. Since these
individuals were totally annihilated when they died, the
"Resurrections" are " New Creations".
(Paradise Lost, page 234)
#3. NON-BELIEVERS WILL
HAVE A SECOND CHANCE.
In some future point in
time the other dead who have not sinned too greatly will
be re-created for a second chance which will last for 1000
years ( but without begetting any more children). If these
people fail , it is said that they will case to exist
again. If they succeed, it is promised that they will I've
on forever! (Christian Answers To Jehovah's Witness, by
William Harding Kneedler, Moody Press, Chicago)
There is NO Biblical
basis for these false ideas. Death never means
annihilation and Jehovah's Witnesses cannot bring in one
word in the original languages to prove it does.
IX. THERE FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING HEAVEN.
Jehovah's Witnesses' view
of heaven is NOT the traditional Christian view of heaven
and is NOT what the Bible teaches about heaven. They
believe that there are two classes of redeemed.
#1. THE HEAVENLY CLASS.
This was the 144,000.
They get this by misinterpreting (Rev 14:1 KJV) "And
I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and
with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his
Father's name written in their foreheads."
They teach that these
144,000 are the only ones who will go to heaven. They
arrive at this by misinterpreting Scripture. This verse
does not mean that the 144,000 are the ONLY inhabitants of
heaven. Rather, it speaks of completeness. The whole
number represents all the redeemed.
There leader, Rutherford,
announced that by 1931 this class was all filled up. But
the overflow crowd was not to despair. There was to be
another class.
#2. THE EARTHLY CLASS.
These are the Jehovah's
Witnesses who are not numbered among the 144,000. Today
the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses belong to this earthly
class. Since the door of heaven was shut in 1931 according
to their teachings. All present Jehovah's Witnesses will
never go to heaven.
Their hope is to live
here and server on earth. Since heaven is not their home,
they do not need to be born again!
This is an earthly class
who will have everlasting life on earth without old age or
sickness. In order to gain their favored position, they
must work at witnessing now.
At a certain point of
time in the future the Jehovah's Witnesses believe that
those of their number in the "earthly class" who
have died will promptly be re-created, and those who have
not died will go on living in an everlasting life in their
present bodies on earth.
At a later time,
according to Jehovah's Witnesses, the other dad who have
NOT sinned too greatly, will be re-created for a second
chance. If these people fail, it is said they will cease
to exist again. If they succeed, it is promised that they
will live on forever (Christian Answers TO Jehovah's
Witnesses, by William Harding Kneedler, Moody Press,
Chicago)
X. THEIR FALSE TEACHING
CONCERNING HELL.
Jehovah's Witnesses deny
the reality of hell. They teach that the person is
completely annihilated at death and there is no
consciousness or suffering in this state of annihilation
and nonexistence. They teach that hell is simply
non-existence. They believe that "eternal
punishment" is NOT eternal torment, but complete
annihilation or extermination. (The Gist of the Cults, By
J.K. Van Baalen, Page 10).
Jehovah's Witnesses base
this upon misinterpretation of the word "SHEOL".
This word sometimes means the greave (Gen 42:38 KJV) And
he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his
brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall
him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring
down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
(Eccl 9:10 KJV)
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;
for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor
wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
At other times it means
the place where the soul is in a conscious condition
(Ezek 32:21 KJV) The
strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the
midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down,
they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
They teach and claim that
"Sheol" ( New Testament Hades always means the
greave and is refuted by Scripture.
But the Bible teaches
that the people who never trust Christ as their Saviour
will one day die and spend eternity with out the presence
of God in a place called Hell. In that place these same
souls will be very much aware of what is going on. Let us
read Luke 16: 19-31:
(Luke 16:19 KJV) There
was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and
fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: (20) And
there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid
at his gate, full of sores, (21) And desiring to be fed
with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table:
moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. (22) And it
came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and
was buried; (23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in
torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his
bosom. (24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have
mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of
his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am
tormented in this flame. (25) But Abraham said, Son,
remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good
things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is
comforted, and thou art tormented. (26) And beside all
this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so
that they which would pass from hence to you cannot;
neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
(27) Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that
thou wouldest send him to my father's house: (28) For I
have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest
they also come into this place of torment. (29) Abraham
saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them
hear them. (30) And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if
one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. (31)
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the
prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose
from the dead.
The Bible has much to say
about hell. The Old Testament abounds in clear teachings
on hell and eternal punishment. The New Testament teaches
more about hell and eternal punishment than it does about
heaven. Jesus Christ taught that here is a hell. He taught
more about hell than all the rest of the New Testament
writers put together.
Heaven is mentioned
approximately 166 times in the New Testament, while hell
and eternal punishment are mentioned approximately 300.
Times.
Edmund Charles Gruss has
written a book about Jehovah's Witnesses. The title of the
book is "Apostles of Denial". No study of
Jehovah's Witnesses would be compete without considering
some of the many things they deny.
Below is a list of just a
few things that Jehovah's Witnesses are against:
They are against:
1. Blood transfusions
2. Voting
3. Holding public office
4. Saluting the Flag
5. Serving in the
military forces
6. Church buildings
7. Christian churches
8. Ministers of the
Gospel
9. Easter
10. Christmas
11. Trinity
12. Deity of Christ
13. The teachings of the
Holy Spirit
14. The teachings of Hell
and punishment
15. Going to Heaven
16. Teaching that a soul
is eternal and lives on after death
17. The Rapture of the
Saints
18. The Second Coming of
Jesus Christ
19. The judgment of God
on Sin ( no hell)
Etc. Etc......
Conclusion:
The Jehovah's Witness
sect is one of the fastest growing false religions in
America. It is one of the most persistent of all
anti-Christian sects. What can Christians do in regard to
the false religion?
1. You should identify
the Jehovah's Witness organization as a false religion.
2. You should become
familiar with there seven-step indoctrination program.
When Jehovah's Witnesses
come to your house, they do not come to bring the
Christian Gospel to you. They come to lead you into their
false religion. They are committed to leading you through
a seven step program of indoctrination. You need to be
familiar with these seven steps.
Here are the seven steps:
1) They want to get their
books and literature into your hands
2) They want to call back
and discuss Jehovah's Witness doctrines with you.
3) They want to establish
a home Bible study or weekly Bible study with you
4) They want you to
attend and area Bible Study with their group
5) They want you to
attend a meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses in their Kingdom
Hall
6) They want you to begin
witnessing to others about Jehovah's Witness teachings.
7) They want you to be
baptized as an outward sign of official entry into the
Jehovah's Witness organization and to forsake all you your
connections with any Christian churches.
Every person should be
away of their satanic scheme to lead people into their
false anti-Christian religion.
3. YOU SHOULD
WITNESS TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES WHEN POSSIBLE
Thousands are caught up
in this blasphemous cult and will never be saved unless
they are won to Christ.
Best way to witness is
for you to give your own personal testimony on how you
came to know Jesus Christ and trusted Him to save you.
Give them a good Gospel
tract. ( Most of them will refuse to touch your tract)
JW's are trained and
skilled in presenting what they believe. It is usually
best NOT to discuss or debate with them - SIMPLY SHARE
CHRIST WITH THEM.
4. YOU SHOULD
WIN THE LOST TO CHRIST AND GROUND THEM IN BIBLE TRUTHS.
JW's thrive in areas
where there is NO strong Biblical and evangelistic
witness. They make almost NO progress with those who are
saved and grounded in the faith.
Refer to the info at the
front of this email: How to detect a false religion
5. YOU SHOULD
REFUSE TO LET THEM COME INTO YOUR HOME TO PRESENT THEIR
FALSE TEACHINGS
The Bible tells us in (2
John 1:10 KJV) If there come any unto you, and bring not
this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither
bid him God speed: (11) For he that biddeth him God speed
is partaker of his evil deeds.
The Bible clearly demands
to refuse to allow false teachers to come into their
churches or homes to teach their false doctrines.
The Bible teaches that
when you invite them into your home and give them
encouragement, you are "a partaker" of their
evil deeds. Many people have violated this command by
inviting false teachers into their homes and buying their
literature. The Bible teaches that you should NOT allow
Jehovah's Witnesses who teach a false doctrine to come
into your homes to share their teachings with you and your
family.
6. YOU SHOULD
TEACH YOUR CHILDREN GOD'S WORD AND WARN THEM ABOUT FALSE
RELIGIONS.
Fathers and mothers
should take these teachings and teach their children about
false teachings. Young people should be warned about the
dangers of dating and marrying those who belong to a false
religion.
THERE ARE MANY VIDEOS AND
BOOKS THAT YOU CAN BUY FROM YOUR LOCAL BIBLE BOOK STORE.
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO AND
ASK SOMEONE AT THESE STORES TO SHOW YOU SOME OF THE VIDEOS
THAT THEY HAVE THAT WILL HELP YOU TO LEARN ABOUT THE FALSE
TEACHINGS OF THESE CULTS.
